Lyrics

WHERE EVERYTHING IS MUSIC music and lyrical adaptation by Brian Campbell
Adapted from the poem by the same name in the Harper Collins publication The Essential Rumi, © 1995 by Coleman Barks, used with permission.

We’ve fallen into the place where everything is music.
Strumming and flute notes fill the atmosphere.
Even if the harp of the world should burn up
There’ll still be a hidden instrument, here.

So the candle flickers, and goes out.
We still have this flint, and a spark.
This singing art is a sea wave
Grace, a pearl on the ocean floor.

We’ve fallen into the place where everything is music
Poems reach up like spindrift on the sand.
Flowering from a root we can’t see
A seashell I hold now in my hand.

So the candle flickers, and goes out.
We still have this flint, and a spark.
This singing art is a sea wave
Grace, a pearl on the ocean floor.

We’ve fallen into the place where everything is music.
Everything, everything is music
Everything, everything is music
Everything, everything is muse...
